Food safety recall round-up 9-15 December 2016
Misbranding prompts beef recall
US: King Meat Services is recalling more than 50,000 pounds of beef products due to misbranding.
Beef items were produced on dates from 1 November to 5 December and were shipped to distributors, retail locations and food service in California.
The problem was discovered when FSIS inspection personnel saw employees removing the marks of inspection of the original beef suppliers and replacing them with the King Meat Services Inc. (Est. 426) mark of inspection.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the products.
