What’s better than chocolate macaroons? Double chocolate macaroons, of course! That’s the view of Ecotone-owned Mrs Crimble’s, the gluten-free baker brand, which makes the offering from Belgian chocolate and chocolate flavoured coating.
“With the new Double Choc Macaroons, we wanted to create an indulgent chocolate cake built on the delicious coconut taste and texture that our macaroons are known for,” explained Adele Ward, marketing director at Ecotone UK.
“Knowing how well the Caramel Macaroons have performed in Asda, we’re confident this new flavour will equally have strong shopper appeal.”
Mrs Crimble’s Double Choc Macaroons are launching into Asda stores today across the UK, with a promotional price of £1.40. The standard RRP is £1.80.

A new granola flavour is entering Rude Health’s stable. Maple & Pecan Granola is made with pecans, wholegrains and sunflower seeds and a drizzle of maple syrup.
At the same time, Rude Health is revamping the pack design for its entire cereal portfolio with ‘strong visuals’ and ‘brighter, bolder graphics’.
For Rude Health founder Camilla Barnard, the Maple & Pecan flavour was a ‘no brainer’ addition to the range. “It's a flavour people love - in fact it's the second fastest growing flavour in the wider cereals category! It's no surprise, given shoppers are looking for more indulgent flavours to enjoy beyond their usual weekday breakfasts. We know they will love this crunchy, nutty granola.
“The launch was also the perfect opportunity to refresh our packs. Rude Health is all about deliciousness and we wanted to make this even clearer on our cereals range. The new designs are more consistent with our drinks range and hero the benefits more clearly - they really pop on shelf!”
Rude Health Maple & Pecan Granola is rolling out across Waitrose stores in the UK and via Ocado online at an RRP of £4 per 400g pack.

PepsiCo-owned Walkers is extending its paper multibag innovation to Snack A Jacks. The new paper outer bag is set to reduce use of virgin plastic by 65 tonnes per year. It can be recycled along with other paper packaging in home recycling bins.
The new packaging is available across Snack A Jacks Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Chive, and BBQ Flavours.
“Our outer paper multibag packs are working well on Walkers Baked, giving us the confidence to roll out this format across more of our snacks brands,” said Gareth Callan, UK packaging sustainability lead at PepsiCo. “The new packaging will help further reduce our non-fossil plastic use, while also helping to lower our carbon footprint as we work towards our commitment to creating a world where packaging never becomes waste”.
Across PepsiCo Europe, the company plans to eliminate fossil-based plastic in crisp and snack bags by 2030.

Collagen in food and beverage is a growing trend. Why? Research suggests collagen intake offers many benefits, including supporting skin and joint health.
That’s why D’Amazonia (which also makes tea products to support menopause) has developed ‘beauty tea’ containing collagen peptides. The ingredient list also includes Chinese green tea, hibiscus, turmeric, moringa leaf, Chinese white tea, rosehip, apple pieces and blackberry leaves.
“As ever our functional teas are deliberately tasked with offering so much more than great taste and refreshment. Our beauty tea specifically responds to the reality that as we age our body not only finds it progressively synthesise collagen but also repel inevitable free radicals (the sun’s UV rays, manmade pollution, the tribulations of passive smoking ..…) which accelerate the speed at which our inbuilt collagen levels deplete,” commented D’Amazonia founder Marcela Tupinamba.
D'Amazonia is selling the teas in packs of 20 from late May 2024.
