William Reed – the publisher of award-winning B2B brands including FoodNavigator and NutraIngredients - has acquired a majority stake in agri-food summit organizer Rethink Events.

Founded in 2011 by Jenni Moss - who will continue to run the Brighton, UK-based business along with 40 Rethink employees - Rethink Events is best-known for its Future Food-Tech innovation summits, with the next event scheduled to run in San Francisco in March.

Its portfolio also includes the World Agri-Tech innovation series, the Animal AgTech Innovation Summit, the Blue Food Innovation Summit, the Indoor AgTech Innovaton Summit, the Asia Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit and the World Water-Tech Innovation series.

Rethink’s events are already highly successful in the US, Asia, and Europe, and being part of the William Reed Group presents significant growth opportunities,” said William Reed CEO Charles Reed.

Both our businesses have always been about building communities and serving them with content and solutions. Now as the clear market leader we can do that across the supply chain in whatever media is most relevant to our customers, whether that be a digital platform, large scale summit, trade show or premium insight.”

With food security at the top of the global agenda, there is a huge need for market intelligence and B2B networking in this sector, said Moss. “Joining forces with the William Reed will amplify our presence and impact in the agri-food industry around the world.”
