Vion makes new addition to supervisory board

Dutch processor Vion has announced that Martine Snels has joined its supervisory board.

Martine Snels is a member of the supervisory board of Electrolux Professional AB (Sweden) and Resilux NV (Belgium). During her international career in the food and agri sector, she has been a member of the executive board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft and FrieslandCampina and held various leadership positions at Nutreco and Kemin Industries Ltd.

Chairman of the supervisory board Theo Koekkoek said: “We are delighted to welcome Martine Snels as a new member of the supervisory board of Vion. Her extensive international experience in the food and agri sector, particularly in Germany, is of added value to the supervisory board.”

Vion also announced that Tom Heidman has decided to step down as a member of the supervisory board later this year. Heidman has been a member of the supervisory board since May 2014 and acted as interim CEO of Vion for a brief period in 2015.

CEO of Vion Ronald Lotgerink said: "We regret Tom's decision to step down. Tom Heidman has played an important role in the development of Vion with his extensive commercial knowledge and extensive managerial experience. I would like to thank him on behalf of everyone at Vion for his tremendous commitment and dedication to Vion.”

As of 3 July 2020, the Vion supervisory board will consist of: chairman Theo Koekkoek, Marieke Bax, Hans Huijbers, Rogier Jacobs, Ton van der Laan and Martine Snels.
