GlobalMeatNews is very excited to announce that we will be hosting a full-day conference discussing the rapidly evolving plant-based protein sector in the summer.

Held on 26 June 2019 at the Marriott hotel in Amsterdam, Holland, the conference invites manufacturers, brands and retailers from across the globe to be part of the thriving plant-based protein discussion.

The conference will delve into all aspects of the plant-based protein sectors, including retail opportunities, what the future might hold for the market, as well as why traditional meat processors are slowly merging into the market.

The event will welcome industry experts from across the world to present facts, figures and opinions on the sector and offers a chance for businesses to network with some of the biggest names.

Currently, we have four out of eight speakers confirmed for the event:

David Welch

David Welch, director of science and technology, The Good Food Institute

David Welch will be travelling from Baltimore, US to Amsterdam to discuss the scientific aspects of creating a plant-based protein product. Welch oversees The Good Food Institute’s team of scientists and combines his background in plant biology and regenerative medicine to help companies and academic research institutions accelerate the development of plant-based and clean meat alternatives to animal products.

Kevin White

Kevin White, fresh foods editor at The Grocer magazine

Kevin White has closely followed the development of the plant-based protein sector for the UK’s biggest food and drink trade title. He will be talking about the retail opportunities for the sector and will speak about why international plant-based protein companies are targeting UK supermarkets.

Morten Toft Bech

Morten Toft Bech, founder of The Meatless Farm Co

Morten Toft Bech founded the UK-based meat alternatives start-up business in 2016 and has quickly developed the business into one of the most well-known meat alternatives firms in the UK. He will discuss the manufacturing elements of plant-based proteins and will talk about his global ambitions for the business.

Jago Pearson

Jago Pearson, communications director, Finnebrogue

Northern Irish bacon and sausage producer Finnebrogue has recently stepped into the plant-based protein market for the first time by constructing a £3m vegan and vegetarian factory. Jago Pearson will explain the reasons why the business has merged into a ‘meat-less’ sector and how traditional meat processors are now accepting the plant-based sector movement.

The full-day conference will begin from 9:15am and will end at 4:30pm, with a lounge suit dress code.

Attendees and speakers will also have the opportunity to be part of an evening networking event on 25 June before the full-day conference.

Early bird ticket rates will be available for €475 plus VAT until 29 March. This will then increase to €590 plus VAT through the plantproteinconference.com website.

This event is not to be missed and is a global platform to learn about plant-based protein from different international markets.

Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so don’t miss out! Book your tickets today on plantproteinconference.com.
