Experts across the international meat industry have exclusively given their views to GlobalMeatNews about the current state of sector.

We spoke to International Meat Trade Association’s (IMTA) policy director Katie Doherty about how Brexit will define the meat industry and how politics plays a big role in agriculture. IMTA is a leading organisation in facilitating the meat trade for exports and imports, and has been recognised by the industry as providing the best information and analysis on Brexit.

We also asked The British Poultry Council’s chief executive Richard Griffiths how it plans to work with the UK Government to get the best outcome for the poultry industry, if a no-deal Brexit is agreed.

The British Poultry Council is an association for those involved in the production of poultry meat and describes itself as the “voice of the industry​”.

Finally, we caught up with Beef and Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) and Meat Industry Association’s (MIA) recently appointed Brexit representative Jeff Grant about his plans to strengthen trade relations between New Zealand and the UK.

B+LNZ is an industry organisation representing New Zealand’s sheep and beef farmers, while the MIA is a voluntary trade association for New Zealand’s red meat processors, marketers and exporters.
