Effective from September, Jackson will be responsible for delivering the organisation’s ‘Inspiring Success’ strategy, a three-year initiative designed to improve British farming, as well as working with the beef and lamb sector board.
Jackson currently works as a senior agricultural manager at retailer The Co-op, where he heads up the beef and lamb categories, as well as poultry. He has also previously held agriculture positions at Arla Foods, where he worked daily with farmers and retailers.
Commenting on his appointment, Jackson said he couldn’t wait to get started in what was an important time for the beef and lamb sector.
“After working across various levels of the supply chain, I hope to bring this experience and new ideas to help deliver the strategy,” said Jackson.
AHDB said Jackson had a passion for agriculture and helping to build relationships after growing up on a dairy farm in Derbyshire.
“Never has there been a more important time to drive change in the beef and sheep sectors and together with our Beef & Lamb Board, he [Jackson] will be ideally placed to do that,” said AHDB’s chief strategy officer Tom Hind.
