Lotus Bakeries is recalling a batch of more than 90,000 glass jars of Lotus Biscoff Crunchy Biscuit Spread because it may contain small metal particles.

The 380g jars, recognizable by their yellow lid, were sold in January and February this year in supermarkets, convenience stores and wholesalers across the UK and Europe.

To eliminate any risk, Lotus Bakeries urgently recommends the affected batches of Lotus Biscoff Crunchy Biscuit Spread should not be consumed,” the company said in a statement.

Lotus Bakeries decided to recall the batches of the affected product after being informed by the co-manufacturer – to whom the task of filling the product is outsourced – that, during a certain period, their metal detection was not adjusted for sufficient precision.
