There is less than one month left to enter the World Steak Challenge – a competition to find and reward the greatest sirloin steaks in the world.

The GlobalMeatNews-backed event is now in its second year and is seeking beef producers who genuinely believe the steaks they produce are better than any else. Bravado aside, the World Steak Challenge is about supporting business excellence in the pursuit of the perfect steak. It recognises quality by identifying individual Gold, Silver or Bronze medal standards achieved as well as The World’s Best Steak and World’s Best Steak Producer.

Some of the biggest players across the US, Japan and Australia, among other countries, are already in the mix to be judged by a panel of experts. But time is running out. Entry for the competition slams shut on Friday 2 September – that’s in three weeks’ time.

The World Steak Challenge really captured the attention of global beef producers and buyers last year. The Challenge delivered a unique independent mark of quality that boosted the sales of all the medal winners in both home and export markets,” said William Reed Business Media event director Sonia Young.

The overall winner - Australia’s Jack’s Creek – secured celebrity status and coverage on national Australian TV, radio and international media. To this day the brand continues to activate new business wins and access new foodservice channels as a result of taking part.

The profile won works not only for the entrants but also its country of origin. It independently underwrites all statements on product quality and breed credentials. Best of all, it’s a very easy process to enter; we have nine countries in already.”

The World Steak Challenge is kindly supported by our reception sponsor Wagyu Japanese Beef and official supplier Beefsteak Club.
