He will provide consulting services and support clients to promote product safety and provide clients with insight into matters of regulatory compliance.
Dr Zink worked for Campbell Soup Company as a manager of Process Microbiology and for Nestle in quality assurance for the Carnation Company and director of food safety for Nestle USA.
Prior to joining IEH, Dr Zink was senior food scientist with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2002 and senior science advisor for the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN).
Dr Zink began as a professor in Microbiology at Texas A&M University and as a professor in Microbiology, Immunology and Food Science at the University of Arizona.
He is the past president of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) and a Certified Food Scientist with the International Food Science Certification Commission and a Certified HACCP Instructor by the International HACCP Alliance.
