British-owned ingredients firm Ulrick & Short has added two new clean label and non-GM starches to its portfolio.

The potato-based starches, Synergie 180P and 190P, can be used in meat products. The firm said Synergie 180P was designed for brining and tumbling of meat and reformed meat products, while Synergie 190P was for related applications where starch needed to be held in suspension prior to injection.

Commenting on the launch, the company’s director, Adrian Short, said: “U&S is effectively providing meat industry customers with a cost-effective one-stop shop for their many and varied requirements, with the opportunity for bespoke product development and the added bonus of clean label and non-GM transparency and traceability.”
