Interpack 2014 show nears kick-off

The triennial Interpack show returns to Düsseldorf next month, with 17 exhibitor halls to explore.

Taking place from 8-14 May at the Düsseldorf fairgrounds, visitors to the show will be able to meet with exhibitors from all stages of the packaging chain, from production and refinement of packaging products and materials, to over packaging and distribution, quality assurance and consumer protection.

The last show, in 2011, saw more than 2,700 exhibitors from 59 different countries, and this year looks set to build on this success.

Interpack also has links to the SAVE FOOD congress, which takes place from 7-9 May at the Congress Centre South – an event directed at both non-profit organisations and industry. It highlights the topics of global food loss and food waste, and explores the aspects involved.

The SAVE FOOD initiative is a co-operation between the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and Messe Düsseldorf. It was launched in 2011, with the congress running parallel to the Interpack show, and this year will see new FAO studies presented, as well as best practice tips from companies across the entire food chain. There will also be a special area at the exhibition for packaging concepts of the future, in Innovationparc Packaging – under the SAVE FOOD theme.

Interpack 2014 will also see a new event – Components for Processing and Packaging – which will take place during the first three days of the show, where suppliers to the packaging industry will be able to showcase their products in Düsseldorf’s City Hall in the Congress Center South at the Düsseldorf exhibition ground.
