Nestlé, and smoothie company innocent, will take part in the Sustainable Events Summit in London today (February 18).

The conference will look at how live events planners can make sustainability a central part of their practices.

Speakers include Inder Poonaji, head of sustainability, Nestlé UK & Ireland; Dan Germain, head of creative, innocent; and Sahar Hashemi, co-founder, Coffee Republic.

Poonaji will be one of the speakers on the subject of 'Why sustainability makes business sense'.

The event will also hear from 2012 Olympian Etienne Stott. The gold medalist will be launching a set of resources for sports and events.

The summit will build on the ‘international standard’ of sustainability set by the London 2012 Olympic Games. The event is endorsed by the mayor of London Boris Johnson.

The summit is a partnership between Sustainable Events, Positive Impact (which produces resources for the sustainable events industry) and events management agency Smyle.
