ABC Research gets chemistry testing boost
The partnership was announced this week after a trial period which started in late 2013.
ABC Research Laboratories is a food testing facility which provides consultations and analytical results to industry.
The firm has ISO 17025 accredited microbiology and chemistry testing on site.
Partnership start
Chuck Ellis, marketing manager for ABC Research Laboratories, told FoodQualityNews.com that it was the first time the firms had worked together and they would continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
“We act as a service provider, we don’t send testing to them but they send any chemistry testing to us," he said.
“Alliant have a microbiological lab but no physical chemistry testing on site. The partnership broadens our exposure and it’s a win-win for us with the added recognition in an area of the US that we hadn’t penetrated that much.
“They were dissatisfied with their current lab and through client recommendations they found us.”
Chemistry testing range
Ellis said the testing ranges from pesticide residue on produce, to antibiotics in seafood and nutritional analysis and labelling.
“Alliant have a big presence in the North East and we are in the South East so we have different clients on the microbiological side and this will give us more exposure in that North East area,” he said.
“We have clients worldwide and have had a significant increase in our work with food importers such as seafood and produce firms who have their products stopped and detained by the FDA.”
Alliant Food Safety Labs works in the area of food contract analysis testing.
