Introduced in 2010, the FSSRC (Booth S7332) brings together subject matter experts who offer specialized knowledge on safety-related topics. These crucial issues include food packaging, HACCP, fraud, allergens, sanitation and more.
Widespread benefits
Katie Moore, global industry manager for food and beverage at GE Intelligent Platforms (one of the program sponsors), told FoodProductionDaily.com the program benefits everyone in the food processing business worldwide.
"We're taking food safety to another level, by collaborating in a non-competitive environment," she said. "This gives people the chance to learn from each other's mistakes, and come together to fix problems. These are issues that truly affect the entire industry."
Industry innovation
Both Moore and Barry V. Lynch, global industry manager of consumer packaged goods at GE Intelligent Platforms, gave presentations on the PACK EXPO Innovation Stage (one located in the South hall, another situated in the North). Lynch addressed controlling systems and sharing data over the "industrial internet," and Moore talked track-and-trace technology.
Scott Wolters, director of the Food Safety Summit, said that the booth staff will have no shortage of topics to discuss.
“With the ongoing changes in food manufacturing and distribution, the experts we bring to PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013 will certainly have a lot to talk about,” he said.
In addition to the FSSRC on the PACK EXPO show floor, the Food Safety Summit conference, scheduled April 8-10 2014 in Baltimore, is bringing food safety experts together to hammer out common problems. For more information, visit the show website at www.foodsafetysummit.com.
