Omega Ingredients and Lebermuth partner to provide Europe with mint ingredients

Flavour and fragrance firm Omega Ingredients has partnered with US-headquartered The Lebermuth Company to provide mint oils throughout Europe.

The Lebermuth Company is a specialist in essential oils for the flavour and fragrance industries, including specialist mint ingredients – the first essential oil that it started producing more than 100 years ago.

The ingredient range will include several US-grown mint oil varieties: Peppermint 1879, Peppermint Willamette, Peppermint Idaho redistilled, Peppermint Yakima redistilled, and Redistilled “Rose Mitcham” Peppermint, as well as spearmint varieties Spearmint Far West Native and Spearmint Scotch. Custom mint oils are also available.

Spokesperson for Omega Ingredients Gavin Harris told FoodNavigator that the mint ingredients could be used in a wide range of applications, including dairy products, confectionery, snack foods and breakfast cereals.

Melanie Brown, co-owner of Lebermuth said in a statement: “We thoroughly test all of our incoming and outgoing raw materials to ensure our clients’ receive consistency and quality. We are excited to work with Omega Ingredients as they grow and develop their brand and product lines.” 

The companies did not disclose financial details of the deal.
