Hosted by California-based SafetyChain Software and the Global Food Safety Resource Centre, the free September 20 event focuses on new Safe Quality Food (SQF) editions. The primary purpose is helping companies ready themselves for continuous SQF certification status.
Safety standards
SQF is a food safety management system (FSMS) demonstrating that a food operation meets rigorous food safety standards.
The webinar, entitled “How to Pass Your SQF Audit with Flying Colors,” is the latest in the SafetyChain Food Safety and Quality Leadership series. The 60-minute event will feature guest speaker Cathy Crawford of HACCP Consulting Group, and will be moderated by SafetyChain co-founder Barbara Levin.
Changing landscape
SQF has been gaining popularity, as consumer demand and regulatory forces such as the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) are driving the food industry toward stronger, more consistent safety standards.
Shifting regulations, and audit responsibilities along with them, are placing more demands on already overworked food safety and quality personnel. According to SafetyChain representatives, educational events and compliance software can help food processing firms keep on top of the changing landscape.
Relevant topics
Crawford’s presentation will hone in on components of SQF audits, such as training, continuous-improvement, management commitment regarding HACCP/SOPs and more. She also will touch upon documentation requirements, verification and validation, and facility performance and scoring.
