An Australian producer of beef jerky, which recently launched into the UK market, is stretching into Europe.

Mariani Foods launched in the UK last April, but announced plans yesterday to list its products in Germany and Iceland. The jerky maker’s products will be on the shelves of premium retailer Dornseifer and convenience retailer KFI in Germany. Products will be stocked on the shelves of Bonus and Hagkaup in Iceland.

Dornseifer will take orders for Mariani’s 25g packs of Soft Beef Jerky in Original and Bulgogi in 30 of its stores; the same ranges will also be stocked by KFI. The stores in Iceland will stock the same two flavours in 30 of its stores across the country.

Mariani Foods managing director Don Nisbet said: “Customers are interested in trying something new and our soft beef jerky offers them that. Its easy-to-chew texture and vibrant flavours make it different to most of the jerky currently available in Europe.”
