Marshfield Food Safety, a Wisconsin-based testing laboratory, has implemented the Atlas System at two of its 11 locations.

The innovation can run Roka Bioscience’s listeria and salmonella detection assays for molecular pathogen detection in food, ingredients and product samples.

According to Roy Radcliff, chief executive of Marshfield Food Safety (MFS), the Atlas System has added to his testing facility a level of traceability, quality control, data integration, and a boost in overall efficiency.

“The robustness, and accuracy ranked very high but the ease of use and the traceability that is built into the system were especially appealing to us,” he said, adding that since installing the system, the company has found it to perform well.

The machine uses a three-step procedure (enrichment, transference and automation) and reportedly can process more than 300 samples in a span of eight hours.
