Coke is bigger than Jesus: Edgy French infographic

The Christian Post has explored the basis for claims made in an edgy French infographic that 94% of people globally recognize the name Coca-Cola but only 56% the cross representing Christianity.

Exploring the sources behind the infographic – you can access it here​ – which also makes some strong allegations in relation to Coke and its effects upon health and the environment – the publication cited its sources, which are hardly conclusive.

The Sri Sharada Institute of India Management Research studied Coke’s promotional strategies and reported: “Research shows that its trademark is recognized by over 94% of the world’s population.

But this publication​, a study on promotional strategies relating to Coca-Cola products, is undated, and does not cite a source to back up this claim.

Meanwhile, what the Christian Post ​calls the Unfinished Task Clock​ shows that there are almost 758m people ‘hearing and believing the Gospel’, while there are 2.534bn people ‘hearing and not believing’ and 3.692bn ‘lacking adequate opportunity to hear the gospel’.
