Palsgaard honoured by Danish politicians

Ingredient specialist Palsgaard has won an award for its dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from the Danish liberal party, the largest party in Denmark.

Presenting the award to Palsgaard chairman Birger Brix, Troels Lund Poulson, minister of parliament for the liberal party and former minister for the environment, said: "For more than a century Palsgaard has been a pioneer in CSR and at the same time its management has prioritised the welfare of its employees and its surrounding community. All in all the company lives up to all the aspects on which the liberal party focuses when choosing the recipient of the CSR award."

Brix responded: "It's always nice when somebody else notices what you are doing and what you think is the right thing to do."

Palsgaard specialises in manufacturing emulsifiers, stabilisers and other specialist ingredients for application in the bakery, chocolate, dairy, ice cream, margarine and fine food sectors.

The company is member of the UN Global Compact, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), GreenPalm palm oil certification scheme and Sedex, the organisation promoting ethical and sustainable supply chains. It aims to become CO2 neutral by 2020.
