The routine audits, which cover the 1,260 FSA-approved slaughterhouses, cutting plants and game handling establishments in the UK, will all be published on the agency’s website.
Around 200 more reports will be published each month, the FSA statement added.
The two main aims of the audits are to make sure these meat establishments are complying with food law requirements and to ensure they are meeting public health standards.
“We think it is important that people have access to this type of information; it shows not only the FSA’s commitment to publishing all useful information but we hope publication will also help businesses to maintain high standards in this vital food sector,” said FSA CEO Tim Smith.
