Vincent Paez, the company’s director of business development for food safety, told FoodProductionDaily.com that the adoption of a ‘highly scientific’ mass spectrometry (MS) process will result in a step change in terms of reliability and accuracy in targeted testing for these potentially fatal toxins.
He adds the company has also developed a proprietary high resolution MS method that detects toxins that analysts may not even have been looking for.
The widespread introduction of the methods will boost security through the food supply chain for marine biotoxins and ultimately result in safer food for consumers, he said.
