Mettler Toledo hails acquisition as final piece in the puzzle

The takeover of CI-Vision was the final piece in the jigsaw that has given Mettler Toledo the ability to offer a fully rounded inspection and quality assurance portfolio, said the company from the Interpack show in Dusseldorf.

FoodProductionDaily.com caught up with Neil Giles, marketing manager for Mettler Toledo Safeline, to discuss the strategic significance of the acquisition made over a year ago.

The company said customer demand for vision systems was the major driver behind the buyout. Previously, it had worked with partners but decided it wanted more control over the integration process of the equipment.

Giles explained it has spent the last 12 months integrating CI-Vision into the business and said it now has a “360-degree” systems offering.

Mettler said the Illinois-based firm is set ti benefit from access to its worldwide distribution and sales network – with the company looking to boost into Asian and European markets.
