Prof Colin Dennis new IFST president
Prof Dennis has been a Fellow of IFST since 1984 and was director general of Campden BRI until 2009, a post which he held for 21 years. He is also chairman of the English Food and Drink alliance and has served on many government and industry advisory committees in the UK and overseas.
He said the importance of the sector had never been greater – particularly in terms of addressing global food security, ensuring sustainable systems and helping to mitigate the effects of climate change.
“I very much look forward to working with staff and members to enhance the recognition of our profession and especially promoting continuing professional development of all scientists, technologists and engineers engaged in providing scientific and technical solutions to the above challenges”, added Prof Dennis.
