Symrise keen to invest further in German beverage compound factory

Today ingredients supplier Symrise announced its intention to invest more into its German beverage compound factory as the plant celebrates its 100 year anniversary.

Since 1911, the unit has supplied flavourings and raw materials to the beverage industry with a product portfolio which includes fruit juice concentrates and compounds.

Frank von Keutz, vice president of Symrise’s beverage business unit, said the Braunschweig-based facility formed an “essential pillar” of Symrise’s beverages business and an important part of the company’s growth strategy.

“This of course means that we will continue to invest. This will allow Symrise to react flexibly to customer needs and to use the expertise of the facility's employees to provide customers and consumers with popular and new beverage creations in the years to come,” he said.

Over the past few years, Symrise has pumped several million Euros into the site. Investments include the installation of a cleaning in place (CIP) system and a control module for the electronic production control and monitoring system.

Capacity for liquid chocolate concentrate was also expanded to meet the growing demand for hot beverages dispensed by machines, said the company.

From 1969, the facility was operated by Haarmann & Reimer and has been running as a Symrise AG facility since 2003.
