A number of conferences have been organised to help food producers
respond to changes in EU law.

The European Union is poised to adopt stringent regulations on labeling and traceability of genetically modified (GM) products. This will present a number of challenges to Europe's food and feed manufacturers.

To educate manufacturers and help them respond to the challenges, non-GMO certification firm Cert ID is offering half-day non-GMO traceability conferences in Germany, Belgium, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom this October.

"The EU's new regulations will have far-reaching effects and consequences for all companies who produce, supply, or use products that could have been produced from a potential GM origin," said Cert ID managing director Richard Werran.

"Food and feed operators will want to make the right choices to avoid potentially serious consequences and brand damage in the future. Our non-GMO traceability conference aims to educate companies so they make the right choices."

Cert ID's non-GMO traceability conference will address the major concerns facing food and feed manufacturers. Topics will include an overview of the new GMO and traceability regulations, and what these mean in practical terms.

In addition, the conference will discuss what the future holds for Brazil with regard to GMOs, and the latest advances in DNA detection technologies. Limits of detection and quantification will also be discussed.

Delegates will be able to choose from two free conference options at each location, with one focusing on food and the other on feed. Cert ID believes that the conferences will provide delegates with the opportunity to meet other industry professionals in retail and manufacturing.

The non-GMO traceability conferences will take place ion October this year in Osnabruck, Frankfurt, Antwerp, Milan and Paris. The final conference will take place in Birmingham.
