Alfa Laval is launching the Solid C series centrifugal pumps, a new series of centrifugal pumps for standard sanitary duties. As the next generation of Tri-Clover brand pumps, Solid C pumps improve on the technology of the C Series, which has been an industry standard for 35 years.

The company believes that the new design offers an improved seal, lower NPSHr and better performance for standard duties in the beverage, food and dairy and industries.

The Solid C is a cost-effective standard duty pump intended for use in non-critical, less demanding applications. All product-wetted parts are in AISI 316L stainless steel. It is a high-value standard pump which exceeds hygiene standards and complies with 3A and CE and has EHEDG certification.

All Solid C pump sizes have the high-quality shaft seal used in Alfa Laval's 14 models of LKH premium pumps. Using the same shaft seal in both pumps simplifies the number of spare parts needed in stock. Conversion kits are available to change from a single to a single flushed seal.

The shaft seal can be removed by hand from the front of the pump without removing the backplate. This means that the shaft seal and O-rings can be changed in minutes. In addition, the compression coupling on the shaft is self-centering. The pump casing can be fitted by a single person, without assistance.
