EnviroSystems' EcoTru receives EPA clearance

US-based bio protection firm EnviroSystems has received clearance from the US Environmental Protection Agency for expanding its range of EcoTru products.

US-based bio protection firm EnviroSystems has received clearance from the US Environmental Protection Agency for expanding its range of EcoTru products, a non-corrosive disinfectant for use on food contact surfaces.

The manufacturer claims that EcoTru reduces the spread of a broad range of infectious diseases, including E. coli, salmonella and listeria.

The approval means that the company can now roll out applications of the product to include use in restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, and food processing plants.

Additional applications include beverage plants, breweries, dairy products processing plants and meat-poultry-seafood plants.

"The new approval expands the market for EcoTru products," said EnviroSystems president Diana Hoffman. "We can now offer a state-of-the-art disease prevention, food safety and brand protection solution for the hospitality, food processing and food service industries."

The company claims that the product is safe for workers to use and is environmentally friendly. Protective clothing and rubber gloves are not needed when cleaning and decontaminating food surface areas.

"We also believe that EcoTru is a valuable image builder for the industry," said Brent Nixon, EnviroSystems vice president for sales and marketing.

"It offers the hospitality and food-related industries an excellent protection strategy, and sends a clear message to their customers that the industries adhere to the strictest worker safety and global environmental standards."
