New CEO for Orafti group
Group, announced this week that a new CEO is to take the reins of
the company.
Chicory based ingredients and rice starch company, the Orafti Group, announced this week that a new CEO is to take the reins of the company. Founded in 1990, Orafti is a subsidiary of Raffinerie Tirlemontoise, which in turn is part of the Südzucker Group - the largest sugar-producer in Europe.
The company reported this week that Georges Smits, currently CEO of Orafti, is to leave the company to 'pursue new challenges'. Paul Coussement, currently Sales & Marketing Director of Orafti Active Food Ingredients, is to fill Smits shoes as the new CEO of the Orafti group. Paul Coussement, an engineer in food technology, started his career in the R&D department of Raffinerie Tirlemontoise and is one of the founders of Orafti. During his 14 years with the company, he has worked in project management, research, regulatory and marketing roles. Paul Coussement has been Sales & Marketing Director of Orafti Active Food Ingredients for the past 7 years. Over the past 12 years, the turnover at Orafti group has grown to € 200 million.
