Today marks the opening of Hi Europe 2002, one of the biggest European shows for manufacturers and suppliers of both the food and pharmaceutical industries. And the FoodNavigator.com team will be at the show, bringing you all the latest news.

Coming from the Parc des Expositions Villepinte in Paris, France, the three-day show will highlight every aspect of the industry from vitamin and mineral supplements to the ever-growing organic food market. Of particular interest to visitors to this show will be the growth of the organic food market, current trends in functional foods and the increasing occurrence of healthful ingredients in food products.

A two-day conference programme will also highlight a number of pertinent topics within the industry, presented by key industry figures. Papers to be discussed at the conference have been carefully selected by a committee which includes Clive Morris from Nestle and Professor Dr Ernst Reimerdes from Novartis Nutrition Research.

The organisers of the event, which is held once every two years, have reported that this year's show is set to be the biggest to date. Bookings have shown that more than 80 per cent of exhibitors from the last event have rebooked for this year. The organisers also claim that there are more international exhibitors than ever, with companies representing every corner of the planet.

The FoodNavigator.com team will be combing the aisles, too, bringing you all the latest industry news, as well as interviews with leading industry figures and post show reports.
