DSM admits to contact with Rhodia

DSM, requested by the French COB (Commission des Opérations de Bourse) to state its position on press comments about DSM breaking off its contacts regarding Rhodia, made the following statement on Thursday.
"In the context of its Vision 2005 strategy DSM has contacts with various companies, amongst others with Aventis and Rhodia.
Stand this beside their statement in late October, 2001: "As has been published by Rhodia yesterday, there is currently no contact between DSM and Rhodia (neither with its management nor on Board level), nor has there been in recent months" .
When asked by FoodNavigator.com to comment on this curious contrast in position, a spokesman from DSM replied that he was unable to comment.
