Monitoring the food safety

The Steritech Group, Inc. launched PracticeFoodSafety™, a food safety management system for the hospitality industry.

The Steritech Group, Inc., a provider of food safety and environmental hygiene audits, has launched PracticeFoodSafety™, a comprehensive food safety management system for the hospitality industry. PracticeFoodSafety™ is a food safety management system with components such as employee training, record keeping and Standard Operating Procedures. Users of the system can conduct self-audits and monitor operations as well as compare in-house practices to industry standards. Users can directly ask questions to Steritech's team of microbiologists, entomologists, registered sanitarians, dieticians and nutritionists. PracticeFoodSafety™ is designed to help food service outfits improve and monitor operations. The training component covers a range of food safety topics on such critical areas as hand washing, thermometers, cross contamination, cleaning and sanitizing and pest prevention. PracticeFoodSafety™ provides tests that let managers audit their facility and determine how well it is meeting food safety standards. Reference guides such as the US Food and Drug Administration model Food Code and Steritech's Food Safety Manual are included, providing managers with quick access to the written standards they must meet. "Now, food service businesses large and small can afford a comprehensive training program that ensures each new associate is equipped with the knowledge necessary to keep food preparation a safe and prosperous business," says Mark Jarvis, President, Food Safety Division.
