Kraft Foods Inc., an American branded foods and beverages company, announced that it has signed an agreement with Cadbury Schweppes Australia Limited to end its licensing arrangement in Australia for Kraft's Maxwell House coffee and Tang powdered soft drink brands. These brands had been licensed to Cadbury Schweppes in Australia since 1984. The termination of this licensing arrangement brings these brands back into Kraft Foods Australia's portfolio. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. "Beverages are a core category for Kraft Foods on a worldwide basis, and this agreement enhances our Australian presence with two of our key global beverage brands," said Roger K. Deromedi, President and CEO of Kraft Foods International and Co-CEO of Kraft Foods Inc. Maxwell House is one of seven Kraft Foods brands generating over US$1bn in annual sales.
