German ingredients company J. Rettenmaier & Söhne announced recently the opening of a new production plant for oat fibres with a capacity of approximately 4,000 t. The company also entered into a co-operative agreement with an American oat manufacturer to expand their range of oat fibre products. JRS offers micro-fine, micro-agglomerated and dust-reduced types and the product portfolio also contains bio qualities. The company reported that a recent study, led by Dr. Feldheim, examined the effects of wheat fibre in test participants with digestive problems and diabetes mellitus in a clinic and retirement home. The results, JRS claims, supported the positive effects of insoluble dietary wheat fibre. The complete report is available upon request. Source: J. Rettenmaier & Söhne
