After a call for a nationwide boycott of its products, French food company Danone has decided to resume production at itsbiscuit factory in the western city of Gyôr in Hungary following negotiations with the Hungarian Government, the Budapest Sun reports. Despite this move Danone is reserving the option to close down the plant and stated a final decision is due by the end of June. In the meantime, Gyôr's mayor commissioned a public opinion poll about the boycott against Danone, finding that 99 per cent of respondents supported the action. According to the agreement between the Government and Danone, the company would, at least temporarily, maintain operations at its plant in Gyôr, which employs 400 people, and a sister plant in nearby Székesfehérvár.
