US flavour specialists Senomyx, Inc.,and US soups giant Campbell Soup Company announced this week a collaborative research and license agreement to discover and commercialise new ingredients to improve the taste of liquid soups. Under the agreement Campbell Soup​ will provide research funding over a three-year period and, if the research is successful, additional payments for milestones and for royalties based on net sales of products using the new ingredients. "This collaboration is an example of how our integrated technology platform has the potential to create new commercial opportunities in the consumer products industry,"​said Paul Grayson, President and CEO of Senomyx, Inc.
