Cerestar USA, part of the French Cerestar Group, and manufacturer of starch and starch derivatives's for the food industry, has received GRAS (Generally Considered As Safe) recognition for Beta Cyclodextrin. Their Beta Cyclodextrin now has GRAS status for use as a flavour modifier in the food categories at use levels specified in the GRAS application submitted to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
