The CIAA has expressed its concerns over the alleged abusive practices by retailers in their dealings with food manufacturers, as high food prices in 2008 put firms under pressure.
Rising food prices are not a short-term problem so food
manufacturers must adapt accordingly, making wise strategic
choices, strengthening innovation and streamlining operations, says
a new report.
Market analysts say the organic market trend is here to stay,
despite rising food prices. In fact, issues surrounding these price
hikes - the globalization of food and environmental factors - may
actually bolster this market.
The Central Bank is expecting deflation of food prices in the
summer months, while prices will grow in September through
December, but at a lower pace than in April when the growth was
much higher than expected creating uncertainty...
