US food company Cargill, the new owner of French starch
manufacturer Cerestar, reported $161 million (€182m) in earnings
for the third quarter ended February 28, up 63 per cent from $99
million earned in the same period a year ago.
US flavour company International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. this
week reported an increase in fourth quarter 2001 earnings per share
of $.30 (€0.34), increasing 100 per cent and 67 per cent compared
to the fourth quarter of 2000.
