HKScan is facing problems in Estonia, where the operation of a meat processing plant in Rakvere has been disrupted by a major strike at the slaughterhouse, which began on 6 February.
Croatian meat processor Gavrilović d.o.o. has obtained an investment grant of about HRK19.66 million (€2.6m) from the country’s government to finance a number of investments at its plant in Petrinja, Croatia.

Horsemeat has again been discovered in beef by-products produced in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, with as much as 15% horsemeat found in some products. Previously, only traces of horse DNA had been detected in the region.
