Carnipure™ - purest L-Carnitine from Switzerland

Carnipure™ is high quality L-carnitine manufactured by the Swiss life-science company Lonza. The proprietary Carnipure™ production process was invented by Lonza scientists in Switzerland and it directly produces the L-isomer of carnitine, which is the beneficial form found in nature. Products displaying the Carnipure™ quality seal on the packaging show the consumer that they contain pure L-carnitine from Lonza.

L-carnitine is essential for the conversion of fat into energy. It acts as a transporter to shuttle long chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for beta-oxidation. Beta-oxidation is the metabolic process of using fatty acids to generate energy for cells, skeletal muscle and vital organs, such as the heart.
Research has shown that Carnipure™ has a broad array of applications, including healthy aging, male fertility, cardiovascular health and weight management. A new paradigm in exercise recovery has also been documented in which Carnipure™ plays a central role in reducing hypoxic stress and improving markers of cellular damage, thereby improving the recovery process after exercise.

Lonza has been supplying Carnipure™ to the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical and infant formula industries for over 25 years. Both Carnipure™ tartrate and Carnipure™ crystalline have been approved for use in foods for particular nutritional uses in the EU and have self-affirmed GRAS status in the United States. You can find Carnipure™ in products ranging from probiotic yogurt drinks to confections to protein bars.

Both Carnipure™ tartrate and Carnipure™ crystalline have manufacturing-friendly properties.
They are bright white, highly water soluble and form colorless solutions. Carnipure™ crystalline is tasteless, while Carnipure™ tartrate has a tart taste, coming from tartaric acid. Both substances are stable for at least two years if completely protected from humidity.
