Oat cricket protein breakfast
German insect protein brand Sens is rolling out a new breakfast product made from cricket protein and oats. The new Oat Cricket Protein Breakfast is available in two flavours: Apple & Cinnamon and Hazelnuts. Both contain oats and quinoa.
Ready in five minutes, the breakfast offering is ‘loaded’ with nutrients and is rich in protein.
“Compared with most of the protein breakfasts out there, it’s 100% natural – without artificial sugars and no chemicals, it doesn’t use milk derivates or soy and it’s gluten-free,” noted the start-up.
For those concerned about the taste profile of crickets first thing in the morning, Sens explained the product tastes ‘delicious’ even with just hot water. But for ‘maximum yumminess’, the start-up suggests consumers add seasonal fruits or walnuts. “You can also use plant-based milk. P.S: cricket protein only adds a nutritional boost and has no flavour.”
Sens’ Oat Cricket Protein Breakfast is available in 400g home compostable packaging.
