‘World’s first’ nutritionally complete vegan protein powder
Meal replacement company Huel has expanded into protein powders.
The ‘world’s first’ nutritionally complete vegan protein powder is made from a bland of three plant protein sources: hemp, faba, and pea. According to the brand, the powder contains ‘adequate amounts’ of all essential amino acids.
Each 105kcal serve contains 20g of protein, 9g of EEAs, and 5g branch amino acids (BCAAs). It also contains all 26 essential vitamins and minerals, as well as being a source of fibre, carbohydrates and fats.
The powder – which is ‘perfect for snacking’ – is available in six flavours: Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Strawberries & Cream, Banana Milkshake, Vanilla Fudge, Salted Caramel, and Unflavoured & Unsweetened.
“Launching a protein powder range that also has the added benefits of complete nutrition with all 26 essential vitamins and minerals is a huge milestone for Huel,” said co-founder James Collier.
“As people have more access to alternatives to animal-based products, they’re beginning to realise that plant protein needn’t be inferior: it’s about the combination of high-quality ingredients within the product, and Huel Complete Protein is created with this in mind.
“For us, plant-based is the new way to do protein and thanks to the balance of plant-based proteins used in Huel Complete Protein, you don’t need to compromise on taste. Huel Complete Protein is a delicious snack between meals – try this instead of grazing on treats.”
