CBD Global Summit postponed due to COVID-19 crisis

William Reed Business Media, the publisher of FoodNavigator, has taken the ‘difficult decision’ to postpone the CBD Global Summit.

Co-hosted by FoodNavigator alongside sister publications The Grocer, NutraIngredients and CosmeticsDesign, the two-day conference was scheduled to take place next week in London (16-17 March). However, given the ongoing COVID-19 health situation, the conference will now be re-scheduled.

“We can assure you this decision has not been taken lightly. However, the health and safety of our sponsors, speakers, delegates and staff are our number one priority,” the event organisers said in a statement.

“Following a consultation with our stakeholders, and taking the continually evolving health concerns and travel restrictions for the Coronvavirus into consideration, we have agreed that postponement is the best course of action at this time.”

The CBD Global Summit was due to bring together speakers and delegates from around the world to examine the global opportunity presented by CBD innovation. Confirmed attendees had been planning to travel from across North America, Asia and Europe to London.

The CBD Global Summit’s programme was designed to explore the frontiers of cannabinoid science and investigate how this can be applied in the commercial world by food, nutraceutical and cosmetic players. The event had secured a raft of big-name firms, innovative start-ups, scientific pioneers and regulatory experts.

A new date will be announced ‘shortly’, organisers confirmed.
