The World Meat Congress 2020 is just over three months away, with key topics set to be debated at the event.

Organised by the International Meat Secretariat (IMS), the 23rd​ World Meat Congress takes place in Cancun, Mexico on 11/12 June. The leading figures in the international meat industry attend this event, offering unparalleled networking opportunities.

Topics set to be discussed at this year’s event include challenges and opportunity for trading meat in the 21st​ Century; alternative proteins; addressing climate change, environment, and the UN sustainable development goals; Meat Business Women; nutrition and the consumer and creating quality and sustainability through innovation.

The sessions on Day One will cover the challenges faced by producers and traders as well as the rapid development of alternative proteins and the difficulties faced by the meat industry to address the environment.

Day Two will focus on the tangible business benefits of having a gender balanced company board and organic pipeline of talent, the health debate when it comes to meat and its alternatives, and what part innovation has to play in creating a sustainable food supply that includes meat products.
