D'aucy bio range
France's D'aucy is launching a new line of organic vegetables in jars.
The new products will help meet booming demand for organic produce in France, the company said, noting a 41% increase in sales volumes and a 40% increase in value for organic vegetables over the past two years.
The company said the NPD is part of its commitment towards an 'agro-ecological transition' and a desire to strengthen the relationship between farmers and consumers. As it works to support organic farmers, D'aucy said its organic suppliers will receive an extra 7 cents per jar.
The new organic line will hit the shelves next month. The company said that the glass packaging, which replaces cans, comes in response to the demand for transparency from organic consumers.
With the exception of tomatoes, all vegetables are grown and jarred in France. Tomatoes are packaged in northern Spain.
