This year’s World Steak Challenge is just days away with the top players in the beef industry fighting it out to earn the top accolade of World’s Best Steak.

The World Steak Challenge 2019 takes place in Dublin at Fire Restaurant and Lounge on Wednesday 10 July and has seen a record number of entrants from 25 different countries.

This is the first time it has taken place outside of the UK since the event started running in 2015.

Global Meat News editor Aidan Fortune said this was a record year for the event. “This is the fifth year of the World Steak Challenge and it’s already our biggest ever with the most entries from more countries than ever before.”

He explained the importance of an event like the World Steak Challenge. “It’s an opportunity for beef producers to showcase their products and pit them against others. Our expert panel of judges want to be blown away by top quality steak and the winners from previous years have done exactly that. Our winners have seen massive benefits from being crowned the World’s Best Steak Producer.

“By attending World Steak Challenge, you have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the very best of the beef industry and network with key players in the meat sector, as well as sample some amazing steak.”

Last year’s World Steak Challenge was won by JN Meat International for its Finnish grass-fed Ayrshire sirloin.
