Champagne brand and food innovators launch lotus root crisps
Iconic champagne brand Laurent-Perrier and snack maker Made For Drink are collaborating to launch a new take on traditional bar snacks: Lotus Root Crisps.
The snack will be available at bars and restaurants across the UK for anyone seeking a “sumptuous snack” to accompany a flute of Laurent-Perrier’s Cuvée Rosé champagne, the company revealed.
The Lotus Root Crisps have been designed to complement the flavours of the Cuvée Rosé. The snacks showcase shichimi togarashi-style spices, which highlight the champagne’s red berry notes. Poppy seeds, ginger, chilli and seaweed provide an “extraordinary depth and complexity of flavour”, the group added.
“We’re always exploring new and original ways to enjoy Laurent-Perrier champagne, and the lotus root crisps are an innovative and delicious pairing for the Cuvée Rosé,” Juliet Elliot, Marketing Controller at Laurent-Perrier UK, commented.
The packaging of these new plant-based snacks is fully biodegradable and compostable.
Lotus Root Crisps will be available at this year’s Taste of London show at Regent’s Park in June, where Laurent Perrier is set to return as the champagne sponsor.
Made for Drink is a family owned gourmet snacking business.
"Based just down the road from our UK head office, Made for Drink are a perfect partner because they share our values of quality, family and sustainability,” Elliot added.
