Elpozo Alimentación takes on 137 staff members

The company is using the new employees to support existing staff during the increase in production in the Christmas campaign.
The employees started this week as meat workers in the production area and will perform their duties at the Elpozo Alimentación meat processing center, the York slicing center, and the logistic and elaborated center and in the maintenance division.
The current staff at Elpozo Alimentación is over 4,900 people, and the business supports 23,000 jobs indirectly.
The company also has the distinctive 'Committed Company with Youth Employment', in recognition of its participation in the implementation of Dual Vocational Training in the Region.
Its director of operations Juan Pedro Florido was recently named as president of the European Commission’s Civil Dialogue Group (CDG) for the pork industry. The CDG is the official forum which analyses together with the European Commission all aspects related to the pork industry, such as the market situation, international commerce or animal welfare, and it is organised by the Directorate-General for Agriculture.
It is made up of representative organisations from the production sector, sales, business and industry as well as NGO environmentalists and consumer representatives.
